Tiger :

Tiger 
➤  Tigers are the largest cat species in the world reaching up to 3.3 meters in length and weighing up to 670 pounds.
➤  A group of tigers is known as an ' ambush ' or ' streak '.
➤  A tiger's hind legs are longer than its front legs, giving them the ability to leap forward 20-25 feet in one jump.
➤  Tigers are good swimmers and can swim up to 6 kilometers.
➤  Tigers live between 20-26 years in the wild. Adult tigers generally live alone
➤  Tigers usually hunt alone at night time. The prey a Bengal tiger can kill in a year is equivalent to 30 buffaloes and it can eat up to 21 kilograms of meat a night.
➤  Cubs are born blind and only open their eyes 1-2 weeks after birth. Cubs start learning to hunt at six months of age but stay with their moms until they are about 18 months old.

Elephant :

Elephant 
➤  There are only two types of elephants in the world - African elephants and Asian elephants. The African elephants are bigger and taller than Asian. Both female and male African elephants have tusks, but only the Asian male elephants has tusks.
➤  The word "elephant" comes from the Greek word "elephas" which means "ivory".  
➤  Elephants can live as long as eighty years. Indian elephants can live up to seventy years.
➤  An African forest elephant can weight around 2,700 kg and can reach a height of 8 feet. An African bush elephant is the heaviest and can weight almost 6,000 kg.
➤  The elephant's gestation period is 22 months - longer than any other land animal in the world. A new born human baby weight an average of 7 pounds while a new born elephant baby can weight up to 260 pounds.

Giraffe :

Giraffe 
➤  Giraffes are the tallest mammals on earth. Its average height of around 5 meter ( 16-18 feet ). Their legs alone are taller than many humans - about 6 feet.  
➤  They can reach 55 km/h ( 35 mph ) at full speed but only in brief spurts.
➤  A giraffe's neck is too short to reach the ground. As a result, it has to awkwardly spread its front legs or kneel to reach the ground for a drink of water. Their tongues are 21 inches long.
➤  Giraffes only need to drink once every few days. Most of their water comes from all the plants they eat.
➤  Both male and female giraffes have two distinct, hair-covered horns called ossicones'. Male giraffes use their horns to sometimes fight with other male giraffes.
➤  All giraffes have unique patterns; none are exactly alike. Giraffes only need 5 to 30 minutes of sleep in a 24-hour period.

Sun Bear :

Sun Bear 
➤  Sun bear can reach 4 to 5 feet in length and 60 to 150 pounds in weight. Male sun bears are slightly larger than female sun bears.
➤  The sun bear has the longest tongue of all bear species - 8 to 10 inches long 
➤  Body of sun bear is covered with short, but coarse fur that can be brown, black or gray in color. U-shaped patch of white, yellow or orange fur on the chest looks like the rising sun. That is why these animals are called " sun " bears.
➤  Sun bear has strong and muscular body, small ears, short muzzle and large canine teeth.
➤  Claws of sun bear can reach 18 inches in length. They are used for climbing and digging of food.
➤  Sun bear rests during the night high in the treetops. It even builds bed using available vegetations.
➤  Sun bears can survive 25 years in the wild.

Octopus :

Octopus 
➤  An octopus is a sea creature with eight arms, hence its name, because in Greek, okto means eight.
➤  The giant pacific octopus is the largest octopus in the world. The largest giant pacific octopus ever recorded reached up to 30 feet across and weight 600 pounds.
➤  The Atlantic pygmy octopus, in contrast, weight only an ounce ( 28 grams ) and has arms about 3 inches ( 8 centimeters ) long and scientists say it's not even the smallest octopus out there.
➤  Octopus has one large heart and two smaller once. So, an octopus has total three hearts.
➤  Octopuses have blue blood.
➤  An octopus's brain is as large as a bird.
➤  Octopuses eat mostly shellfish.

Snake :

Snake 
➤  Snakes live on everywhere on earth except Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, the North and South poles. 
➤  The top 5 most venomous snakes in the world are the inland taipan, the eastern brown snake, the coastal taipan, the tiger snake and the black tiger snake.
➤  The heaviest snake in the world is the anaconda. It weight over 595 pounds (270 kg ) and can grow to over 30 feet ( 9 m ) long. It has been known to eat caimans, capybaras and jaguars.
➤  The warmer a snake's body, the more quickly it can digest its prey. Typically, it takes 3-5 days for a snake to digest its meal. For very large snakes, such as the anaconda, digestion can take weeks.
➤  The world's longest venomous snake is the king cobra from Asia.

Hippopotamus :

Hippopotamus 
➤  The name Hippopotamus comes from the Ancient Greek " river horse ".
➤  Hippos are large semi-aquatic mammals, with a large barrel-shaped body, short legs, a short tail and an enormous head.
➤  They are considered as the dangerous animal in Africa.
➤  They are considered the second largest land animal on earth ( first place goes to the elephant ). Male hippos measure around 3.5 meter long and 1.5 meter tall and can weight up 2,300 kilograms.
➤  Despite their enormous size, hippos are great swimmers and can hold their breath for up to five minutes underwater.
➤  In the wild hippos live for around 40 years. In captivity, they tend to live longer and may reach up to 50 years old.
➤  Hippos eat 150 pounds of grass daily.

Shark :

Shark
➤  Sharks come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and even colors. The largest shark in the world is the whale shark ( Rhincodon typus ), which is believed to reach a maximum length of 59 feet. The smallest shark is through to be the dwarf lanternshark ( Etmopterus perryi ) which is about 8-10 feet long.
➤  While nobody seems to know the true answer, it is estimated that the whale shark, the largest shark species, can live up to 100-150 years and many of the smaller sharks can live at least 20-30 years. Bull sharks can live in both fresh and salt water.
➤  Sharks have very keen sense of hearing. It is proved by researchers that they can hear low pitch sound better below the range of human hearing.
➤  It is very alarming fact about sharks; some sharks eat their unborn siblings. They eat them because they are looking for nutrition to maintain their survival.
➤  Sharks do not have vocal cords. So, they make no sounds. That is why they are known as the " silent killers ".
➤  Great white sharks eat an average of 11 tons of food a year. Though they can go as long as three months without eating.

Frog :

Frog
➤  There are approximately 4,740 species of frogs around the entire world. There are about 90 species of frogs in the United states.
➤  One of the funny animal facts about frogs is that in 2014, 14 new species of dancing frogs has been discovered.
➤  Frog's don't drink water. They absorb it through their skin.
➤  The smallest frog is the Paedophryne amauensis , which is 7.7 millimeters in a length.
➤  The goliath frog ( Conraua goliath ) is the largest living frog on earth. Specimens can grow up to 32 centimeters ( 12.6 inches ) in length from snout to vent and weight up to 3.25 kilograms ( 7.17 pounds ). 
➤  The lifespan of a frog is 1 to 30 years. The exact length of time depends on the species of frog.
